• READ your owner's manual
  It's full of useful information that will make your life easier. 
   
• AIR FILTER
  Clean it after every ride. To reinstall the filter it is IMPORTANT to put the filter onto the lid FIRST and then put both together into the air box. Make sure that the lip is well seated and sealed with grease. In very dusty or muddy conditions it is a good idea to seal the perimeter of the lid to the box with duct tape.
   
• FUEL
  Premium pump gas is sufficient.
   
• GEARBOX/CLUTCH OIL
  ELF HTX 740 is the recomended oil. Switching oils will cause decreased performance.
  
• Motor Oil 
  Use Maxima 10/40 sinthetic four stroke oil. 
   
• Throttle Body
  Do not use Carb cleaner on it, only use soap and water if it needs cleaning.
   
• REAR SPOKES
  Keep a eye on them during break-in. Be careful not to over-tighten nipples. 1 turn = 2 turns of a conventional nipple. Tapping a properly adjusted spoke with a wrench should give a tight ringing sound.  If a spoke breaks replace it immediately. Keep an eye on the rear disc bolts as well. Failure to do so can cause damage to the rear hub.
  
• Radiator, adding coolant
  Loosen the Radiator Grille and pull the radiator forward, remove the radiator cap, use a small cup or a hose to get the fluid into the radiator. Use Maxima Coolanol pre-blended coolant.
